Iran film ‘Melancholia’ praised by cultural official in Bulgaria

Iranian film ‘Melancholia’ hailed by Iranian cultural counselor, Mohammad Ali Kiani, in Bulgaria.

The Iranian cultural official praised the cast and crew of the movie that has recently won award at the Union of Bulgarian Film Makers.

‘Melancholia’ was competing against 12 other titles in the main competition section of the festival for the Golden Aphrodite award.

The film narrates the story of people afflicted with bipolar disorder, though they are not aware of their mental condition.

Among cast members are Leila Otadi, Hamid-Reza Hedayati, Laleh Eskandari and Nader Fallah.

Atashzamzam expressed delight over the warm reception of ‘Melancholia’ at the festival, adding that he has been invited to take part in the jury panel at a Bulgarian film festival devoted to children and adolescent films.
